One UI 9 causes Wi-Fi and mobile data connectivity issues on Galaxy phones

Galaxy phone users are facing Wi-Fi and mobile data issues after the deployment of One UI 9 update, which Galaxy phone owners say is Galaxy users have started experiencing Wi-Fi and mobile data problems after updating to the new One UI 9, Android Headlines reports.

Another user stated that their Galaxy S24 connects to Wi-Fi but then gets disconnected with a message "Connection failed". Restarting the phone doesn't solve the issue as the phone connects to Wi-Fi but disconnects after that.

Someone on a Galaxy Z Fold 7 that's updated claimed that the handset doesn't get onto 5G anymore, whereas another Galaxy Z Fold 7 user said that their phone connects to Wi-Fi but not "Wi-Fi Calling.".

A Galaxy S24 Ultra user confirmed that their device connects to Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz) but does not connect to Wi-Fi (5 GHz).

Ultra user explained that resetting both the network and Bluetooth networks fixed the problem - but another user said it did not work for them. A few users said they could not get their phones to connect to mobile data. They had already tried turning on the Airplane Mode, reset all network settings, or removing and reinserting the SIM card.

Another Galaxy A36 owner states his SIM was not detected after updating to One UI 9; Galaxy A56, Galaxy A52s, and Galaxy S24 users have also experienced this problem. The complaint states that the update is "eating away the network and not allowing the user to access any form of connectivity."

That's not the first time we've heard about something like this: Earlier this year, Android Auto lost its ability to connect to some Galaxy devices after an update. There was also an issue where Galaxy phones could get stuck on an error screen while installing One UI 9 in October. Samsung's now ramping up the rollout of the latest update to the Galaxy A54, A26, and A27.
